Yellow Jackets Can't Hold Up Against Coopertown

It was a tough day on Monday for Yellow Jackets, who lost 12-2 to Coopertown

In the first inning, Yellow Jackets got their offense started when an error scored one run for Yellow Jackets.

Coopertown evened things up at two in the bottom of the first inning when an error scored one run for Coopertown.

Coopertown pulled away for good with three runs in the third inning. In the third Cody Jonessingled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run and Chase Goodman drew a walk, scoring one run.

Coopertown scored four runs in the fourth inning. Coopertown offense in the inning was led by Ty Rhodes and Matthew Farmer, all knocking in runs in the inning.

Carter Waltz was the winning pitcher for Coopertown. He went three innings, allowing two runs on zero hits and striking out five. Budda Ellis and Farmer entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Nate Crawford took the loss for Yellow Jackets. He lasted two and two-thirds innings, allowing four hits and five runs while striking out four.

Tony Petties led Yellow Jackets with one hit in one at bats.

Coopertown collected eight hits on the day. Farmer and Jones all collected multiple hits for Coopertown. Waltz led Coopertown with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with six stolen bases.
